Thanks, Fred. I wouldn't say that any charges have been filed. I posted a blog entry on the coincidence, but come on, when a book with virtually the same title is slated to come out shortly after mine, you gotta allow me that! I imagine if my book had published after yours, I'd have heard some accusations on various fronts that I was copying you. In this case, perhaps I lucked out on the timing - though I wouldn't necessarily call it "luck" because I also worked on my book for quite some time, and my publisher and I very consciously aimed to have my book come out at the beginning of the year. If anything, I chalk it up to the industry having either (a) gotten the process of naming books down to a science, or (b) having reduced it to a formula, depending upon one's perspective. Regardless, if Amazon is smart, they will link our books to each other.

Best of luck with yours.

Just so you know, I've been working on the 1959 book for some time and came up with the title many months ago. When your book came out, we all gulped for a moment, wondered if we should change it (to avoid precisely the charge you're filing now), but decided to go ahead with it...Fred Kaplan

Hi Rebecca,
Thanks for your message. I was wondering about that at the time until I saw the percussionist in back was the one saying it. It was strange and fun. What a great show!

Hi- I was at the show last night too and appreciate your review- the show was great.

Question- did you think VM was saying between the encore and at the end (after he walked off stage) "van the man" "mr van morrisson"- I was too far back and couldn't tell, but thought it was him. Just curious....
