PAUL WAS DEAD? THE BEATLES ON ABBEY ROAD, 40 YEARS AGO

It was forty years ago this past weekend that the Beatles walked across the pedestrian crossing on London’s Abbey Road in the photo shoot for the final album they recorded as a group. Hundreds of people showed up on rock’s most famous crosswalk this weekend to commemorate the image. In 1969, supposed clues on the album cover fed an urban legend that Paul McCartney was dead and had been secretly replaced by a double.
